I Spy Room

This room is for our youngest "Villagers", beginning at 18 months until 24 months. In this room, we concentrate on potty training and social skills. This age group napes from 12:30pm to 3:00pm.
Tumbling Twos Room

This room is for children from 24 - 36 months of age. The curriculum in this room focuses on social skills, gross motor skills, color and shape recognition as well as beginning letter and number sounds. We provide reading, art projects, group and individual activities in addition to the Montessori curriculum. This age group naps from 12:30PM to approximately 3:00PM. We also assist in potty training for children who have not yet mastered this skill.
Winker Room

This is our 3 year old room. The curriculum for this age group helps prepare the children for our Rising 4 room, reinforcing the skills learned in the Kit Kat and Tumbling Twos rooms. In addition to those skills, they begin to introduce number and letter recognition and concentrate more on fine motor skills. They will learn such skills as how to cut and how to hold a pencil, as well as name recognition. They also introduce the concept of the calendar. They still take naps from 12:30PM to approximately 3:00PM. Children in this class are expected to be potty trained.
Rising 4 Room

This classroom is our newest addition to the school. The curriculum in this class builds upon the previous rooms, all with an eye to preparing the children for the Pre-K classroom. All the children in this room must be 4 years old, completely potty trained and ready to give up naps. This classroom will concentrate more on letter and number recognition and writing. They will build upon their fine motor skills and begin writing their names and do more classroom oriented group activities. The children will NOT take naps in this room in order to help ease the transition into the Pre-K classroom.
Pre - K Room

This is our preschool room for children 4 - 5 years of age who will be going to Kindergarten the following year. Our main focus in this room is on Kindergarten readiness. They will be building further on the skills learned in the previous rooms, and will now learn how to write the letters and make the connection between letter sounds and words. They will begin simple math concepts as well as a broader understanding of the world around them with science, music and geography lessons. You will receive progress reports at the beginning of the year and again in the spring so that you may track the progress made by your child. Children should leave this room with all the tools needed to excel in Kindergarten and beyond.
School Age Care

This service is provided for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years who are enrolled in public school. We offer before and after school care as well as transportation to and/or from many Cheyenne schools. Please see the Director for a complete list of schools. We offer homework assistance as well as all-day care during in-service days and many school holidays. During Spring break, Christmas break and the summer months, we offer many fun activities and field trips for the youngsters.

The Village Montessori School

The Village Montessori School in Cheyenne, WY is a Montessori based Pre-school which features child-driven learning activities. We also provide after-school care and daycare for ages 18 months to 12 years old.

The Village Montessori School is a non-profit organization that employs the Montessori Method of teaching, which focuses on child centered activities and allows each child to develop at their own pace. All teachers are qualified by education, experience and love of children. Teachers are CPR and First Aid trained as required by the Wyoming Department of Family Services.

Each classroom contains a full range of educational equipment and activities. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to visit the classroom and discuss the teaching methods and child care with teachers or the Director.
