Director’s Memorandum
Dear Village Montessori School Parents, I just can’t get over how fast the month flew by! And here we are ready for October, and all the "fall fun" in store for our children here. First off, I wanted to bid a very sorrowful "Goodbye" to Ms. Vickie. She has been at the school for 7 years, and has been a dedicated teacher as well as an excellent Asst. Director. She just simply feels its time to move on and try new things. She will be sadly missed by all and especially me. We wish you luck in all your future endeavors. On a lighter note, we are gearing up for our annual " FALL FESTIVAL". This is such a fun night out for the entire family. We will need your help to make it a success, and all proceeds go directly back to the school and your child for educational items we can purchase. We will be sending out more detailed information about the event that will take place on Friday, October, 24th from 5:30 -7:30. All are welcome, so tell the neighbors! There will be games, cake walk, face painting, haunted house, bouncy house, raffle, a costume parade and contest, plus loads more.We have opened a brand new room called the "I Spy Room"it will be for 18mo. -24mo. old children. We have a new teacher as well, Ms Rebekah. We are all so excited about this room, and welcome our newest member to our school. Our themes for this month are: fall/harvest time, leaves/apples and of course HALLOWEEN! We will be trick or treating around the area so look out for those permission slips. Also, please be sure to check you child’s room for any special trips and parties planned for this month. I wanted to address the issue of children that become ill here at the school. As per your parent handbook you are required to keep a child home for 24 hours if they have vomited, have pink eye ( 24 hours after meds) , or run a temperature of 100° or higher. A parent or guardian needs to pick up the child within the first hour of the school calling. We are heading for flu season with all those wonderful bugs and viruses that are always in full swing here. We want the children and teachers to stay healthy and if children are coming in with temperatures, other illnesses or virus symptoms it is hard for us to get a handle on controlling it. We need your help in this matter, so please keep your child at home if there is any question of health.
A Few Reminders: Our monthly board meeting will take place on Tuesday, Oct.14th LCSD#1 will be closed on 10/13-10/14 for staff development. An early release day on 10/29 and they will also be closed on 10/30 -10/31 for teacher conferences. Our Fall Festival is on Friday , October 24th from 5:30-7:30 Remember to start bringing those coats just in case. With our wonderful Wyoming weather you never know what’s in store! A change of clothing for your child in case of those unexpected accidents.
As always any questions, concerns or ideas you may have fell free to come and talk to us about it.
Thank you all, and a Happy Halloween! Ms. Teresa
